Usually mispronounced, Lancaster is a suburb of Dallas. Lancaster (pronounced LANK-ist-er) drew some publicity in 1934 when legendary bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde robbed the R.P. Henry & Sons Bank located in the town square. With over 37,000 residents, Lancaster has more than tripled its population since 1970. In both 2005 and 2006, the city of Lancaster was a finalist for the All-American City Award, given by the National Civic League.
